Every offer on Winporter carries a label that says exactly what was checked and when. The labels are set from logged checks: a date can’t be typed in by hand, and editing an offer never makes it look freshly verified.
What each label means
- Verified (date): a Winporter editor applied the code at the merchant’s checkout and the discount was accepted. The label shows for 30 days after that test.
- Checked (date): an editor confirmed the offer on the merchant’s own website, email or official affiliate feed, without a checkout test. Deals that need no code are usually labelled this way.
- Reported working (date): there is no recent editor check, but since the code last changed at least 5 visitors from at least 3 different networks reported on it, at least 80% said it worked, and the latest “it worked” report is less than 30 days old.
- Last verified (date): the most recent editor check is older than 30 days. The offer may still work, but we haven’t confirmed it recently.
- Not verified yet: the offer was listed from the merchant or an affiliate programme but hasn’t been checked yet. These offers rank lower.
- Recently failed a check: an editor tried it and it didn’t work. It leaves the active list until it passes again.
How codes are tested
Before a code is marked Verified, a Winporter editor applies it at the merchant’s checkout and confirms that the discount is accepted. Each check is recorded with its date, so the label always shows when the last test happened. Stores are rechecked regularly, starting with the most visited ones, and a code that fails a recheck is taken off the active list straight away.
If a merchant changes a code, the old verification and all visitor reports for it are cleared, so nothing carries over to a code that hasn’t been tested.
Visitor reports
Anyone can answer “Did this code work?”. Each connection can report once per offer per month, and no single network can add more than two reports to an offer. We store one-way hashes, not IP addresses. A success rate appears only after 10 reports, and it resets when the code changes.
How offers are ranked
Offers are ordered by how recently and how strictly they were verified, what visitors report, and the size of the discount. Editor’s picks get a small, limited boost. The commission we might earn from a merchant is not part of the ranking.
Expired offers
Offers leave the active list automatically on their end date, or as soon as a check fails. The last few are kept in an “Expired or not working” section on each store page, so you can see what has ended.
What we can’t promise
Merchants can change or end an offer at any time, and many codes are limited to new customers, certain plans or certain countries. Always check the final price at checkout before you pay. If a code doesn’t work for you, please use the “Did this code work?” buttons or email imjenniferparker@gmail.com.
