This policy explains what information winporter.com (“Winporter”, “we”) collects when you use the site, why, and what choices you have. We collect as little as we can: you don’t need an account to use Winporter, and we don’t sell personal information.
What we collect and why
Analytics
We use Google Analytics, connected through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how people arrive (for example from a search engine), and roughly where they are and what device and browser they use. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. The data is processed by Google under Google’s own privacy policy, and we see it in aggregated reports. You can opt out with Google’s “Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on” or by blocking cookies in your browser.
“Did this code work?” reports
When you report whether a coupon worked, we store your answer together with one-way codes (hashes) made from your connection’s IP address and the current month, using a secret key. The IP address itself is not stored, and the codes can’t be turned back into it. They are used only to stop the same connection reporting the same offer more than once a month, and to stop any one network adding too many reports.
Clicks to stores
When you follow a link to a store, we add one to a daily click total for that offer. No IP address, browser details or cookie is stored for this.
Recently viewed stores
The “Recently viewed” list is kept only in your own browser (in local storage) and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
Messages you send us
If you email us, we use your email address and message to reply, and keep them only as long as needed to deal with your request.
Email sign-ups
The site loads a script from Hostinger Reach, Hostinger’s email marketing service, which provides email sign-up forms. If you ever subscribe to emails from Winporter, your email address will be stored with Hostinger Reach, and every email will include a link to unsubscribe.
Hosting and security logs
Winporter is hosted by Hostinger. Like most websites, the server records technical information about requests, such as the IP address, browser type and the page requested, to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for a limited time.
Cookies
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics (for example
_ga), as described above. - Login cookies, only for people who manage the site.
- Winporter does not currently show advertising or use advertising cookies.
Stores, affiliate links and other websites
When you click through to a store, the store or its affiliate network may set its own cookies, including cookies that record that you came from Winporter. Those cookies, and anything you do on the store’s website, are covered by that company’s own privacy policy, not this one. See our affiliate disclosure.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers that run the site for us: Google (analytics) and Hostinger (hosting and email services). We don’t sell or rent personal information. These providers may process information in countries other than your own.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to object to how it is used. To make a request, email imjenniferparker@gmail.com. Because voting reports are stored only as one-way codes, we can’t link them to a particular person.
Children
Winporter is a general shopping resource and is not aimed at children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
